McLennan County, Texas sheriff’s deputy suspended
McLennan County deputy suspended again amid concerns over questionable arrests in up to five cases
Deputy Derrick Shaw tells KWTX he is ‘being unfairly singled out’
READER RANT BELOW IN ANSWER TO DERRICK SHAW SAYING HE WAS UNFAIRLY SINGLED OUT.
I think the quote about being singled out from Shaw is more significant than most people are giving it credit for. If you are being singled out, it’s not a denial the allegation. It is confirmation that others are doing the same thing, but are not feeling the consequences. Many of us have known for years this was happening, going as far back as testimony in a 2022 jury trial about a 2017 offense. A jury may have been fooled, but I bet that particular deputy would do anything in the world to avoid a polygraph on that case. Funny how his name is all over the Shaw issue and they are incredibly similar circumstances. The question becomes how much further back than 2017 has this been going on? And when will the DA’s Office look at old cases with this new information and do the right thing?
