The following is a Reader Rant, I am hopping in to say, I am used to how they behave. They’re a joke. The AG’s office is so sick of MCSO they started to threaten to CHARGE MCSO for the constant Opinions Requests. The MCSO does that to delay you getting anything, like most 14 year olds, they think it’s cute. It’s cute if you’re them, they’are a cult of their own now, suck ups who work together, get fat as pigs together, harass blacks together during traffic stops in town, and generally thrive on sucking up, self pity, fried chicken and laxatives. Plus that other little cult that likes to meet at eachother’s houses to do, let’s say, “other things”. Oh, and sucking up, their favorite activity. Get out the chapstick and lube, it’s another week.

So according to “Vanessa N”, the paperwork that an officer submits to the jail in order for a person to be booked in and arraigned is somehow not a record retained by the MCSO, but rather a “copy” and if we want the “original” we should contact the arresting agency….
IMO, if you have a “copy” of said paperwork and use it to continue to detain an individual, thus depriving him of his freedom, then that “copy” is subject to Open Records.
This is some Guatanemo Bay, War On Terror, bullshit.
“Vanessa N” insists that while the MCSO uses a “copy” of that paperwork to take away someone’s freedom, somehow the MCSO is not in any way responsible for that paperwork and should not have to submit it as an open record.
I’m fairly certain that the Open Records Act is about records retained by government bodies and not denying those records because we should instead ask the person where the record initiated.
