DISAPPOINTED! Can I say what we are all feeling? Our system is broken. Justice is supposed to be blind, but in this case, it was merely a blind eye to the illegalities of a celebrity not a lawman. Our Top law official in the county is a thief and he stole from you and me. His celebrity status that is errantly placed on him has garnered him a perpetual get out of jail free card. The Ellis County Prosecutors office was lazy and inept. The Rangers are complicit in the cover up and have lost credibility yet again. Here’s what we know: Overtime, some local Ranger Burson had consistently been allowed to meddle in cases that without question they should have been conflicted out of. This brings a question of integrity or lack thereof to the agency. The Ranger on this case is no different. Freeman has displayed no integrity and has shown that he is scared to do the right thing. Which is a quality you think all Rangers would possess. Instead, it simply about who can you protect to further your career. Our State Police have been given the green light to prosecute who they want and protect who they need. Look at the Sheriffs who have been arrested across the State and then look at their lack of ties to the Governor and other politicians. Freeman has been lazy in this investigation in an attempt to protect a cowardly feeble old thief for the sake of saving him embarrassment and protecting a false narrative legacy that was manufactured in the head of a man with a history of inflated self importance. For those in law enforcement, im sorry for you because it is instances like this that grow the idea of division between those born into privilege and those who are just trying to make it in an industry of public scrutiny and hate. Here’s what we know : A Grand Jury ordered an investigation based on a story by reporter Tommy Witherspoon and an online blog. A full and competent investigation was never completed, nor were the final results given to a grand jury. Instead, a bastardization of our justice system took place in front of our eyes and to make it worse, we are left with no closure or final result. One would ask why there is no closure and the answer again sheds light on the corrupt system we are married to; if they close it, the report becomes subject to open records and then we get to know the truth and they don’t want that to happen. This case is one hundred percent indictable. We have been lied to and watched as the coverup happens and Ellis County helped protect a criminal because of his age or health or celebrity status. Regardless of the reason, the ones who were charged with upholding the justice system failed the public and they did so intentionally. There is an old saying “you can indict a ham sandwich” not only was this prosecutor so inept that he couldn’t accomplish that task, he was too lazy to even try. Timesheets that show a Deputy getting paid when he was injured doing personal work at a ranch not on his beat. (theft) and (falsifying govt documents) The Sheriff instructed the employee to not claim worker’s compensation yet allowed him to claim the day’s work on his county timesheet. (official oppression) Freeman had statements from the deputy that he had to run and hide when other officers came around. ( knowledge) Freeman had dozens of witnesses to the crime and didn’t use them including Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals and patrol officers. (dereliction of duty) Freeman had a Chief Deputy that is on record as having warned the Sheriff that his actions were illegal and he didn’t use him. ( failure to report) Freeman had Supervisors that documented the continued absence of the employee in question. The documentation was in email and text and he didn’t use it. ( dereliction of duty). We have been stolen from and we have been lied to yet again and while the lawsuits against our county continue to mount up since day one, they are becoming increasingly more repeat occurrences. No one is in the office, and no one is coming to save us. He will run his replacement out on a stage, make him dance like a marionette and the people will eat it up because he is Parnell McNamara. His biographic movie will drop and the ending we all see will be one that most of the public knows is not true. But, perception is reality, so for those who are blinded by the celebrity God that is Parnell, more division will be sowed more discontent will grow and our community will suffer while he rides off into obscurity. Me personally I’m hoping he falls off his horse.
