I am absolutely furious and deeply disturbed by the ongoing misconduct and lack of accountability within the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office. The fact that Deputy Derrick Shaw—who has now been suspended twice for questionable arrests, inconsistent reports, and conduct that led to the dismissal of multiple serious felony cases—is still being protected by the same leadership that hand-picked him, speaks volumes about the broken system we are living under.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about Shaw. This is about a culture of cronyism, cover-ups, and corruption. This is about Chief Deputy Cody Blossman hand-selecting unqualified or unethical individuals and standing by them as they jeopardize people’s lives, freedom, and trust in law enforcement.
This is about Sheriff Parnell McNamara—who doesn’t even bother showing up to work—collecting a taxpayer-funded salary while sitting at home on the same property that county deputies were illegally assigned to clean on county time. The citizens paid for that, and we’re paying again in dismissed cases, ruined reputations, and a justice system that can’t be trusted.
All while the deputy who filed the false affidavit is crying foul over being “singled out”? Give me a break. If anything, the real injustice is that he hasn’t been terminated and criminally investigated for filing a false sworn statement. Any average citizen would be prosecuted for less.
Let me be clear: we are not going to stay silent while you protect your friends, enrich your inner circle, and throw justice out the window. This situation is not just a scandal—it’s a disgrace. The people of McLennan County deserve better than this parade of lies, power plays, and unchecked abuse.
Sheriff McNamara, if you won’t do your job, step aside. If Deputy Blossman is going to run this department like a fraternity house, he needs to go too. The damage you’ve all caused to public trust, legal integrity, and basic fairness will take years to undo.
But we will undo it. And we’re watching every move from here on out. All you up for reelection and all of you running for office if you have any relationship with your predecessor or you or endorsed by the incumbent you will NOT RECEIVE OUR VOTE!

Parnell has done tremendously good for McClennan county before you were ever born and Cody Blossman is top notch . I have no idea what you are saying about the courthouse and judges .
