Although this should be addressed to the citizens of McLennan County, here goes my thoughts on this whole McNamara tragedy. My heart breaks for Mandy as small children we idolize our parents everything, they say is gospel, I know I did.
Unfortunately, when we get grown, we realize that our parents were are in fact flawed! Her reality will hit her hard, this will pass unfortunately she just does not have a parent to wrap their arms around her and help get her through it. Her father is horrible how can you tell your child and your grandchildren that they will go to jail if they come back to the property? What kind of parent does that? What is he hiding that he is afraid his daughter might accidentally expose?
When you have skeletons in the closet it is not a good idea to anger the people that know where they are buried!
Her father has effectively bamboozled the citizens of McLennan County his entire term in office.
The Sheriff has once again shown his true colors, as a father he should have comforted his child as she grieved the loss of her family home and her memories, instead of using County resources “deputies” to police her and threaten her. I hope now that Parnell is off that pedestal more truth will come out. All the people that write to you with stories about him and his “crew” can not be liars! If the stories are correct, then Parnell used a County employee as his personal ranch had for three years to help clear the land for him and Charlotte McNamara’s Barndo.
I am going to break this down for the people that are not clear about how this works, that is plain and simple theft from the County, we pay their salaries to protect and serve the citizens of McLennan County we do not pay them to work on the Sheriffs personal property. So, if in fact this employee did work at the “Homestead” for three years and made $47,000.00 a year we as taxpayers paid Parnell’s personal ranch hand $141,000.00. This is NOT acceptable.
Here is more fact as an elected official “Parnell” does not have to be in the Sheriff office at all! He does not punch a time clock which is obvious by the fact that he and Charlotte were apparently at the homestead for the entire build and destroy process. Reading back through the Harry blog which takes a while! He and Charlotte were basically on vacations most of every year. Parnell injected himself in campaigns to me that was unethical as an elected official! YOU DO NOT DO THAT! Especially when his goal was to get his “crew” in office so that he could call in favors for his dirty deeds apparently NOT done cheap.
If your information is correct, he has many County ATVs at his homestead for his personal use again paid for by the taxpayers of McLennan County. The last time I checked these things were NOT cheap. It is obvious to me if he will threaten his own daughter and grandchildren an employee trying to do the right thing does not stand a chance. It appears that our County Judge and County commissioners are also beholding to the almighty Sheriff and at least three judges from what I can tell the DA and maybe a couple of Texas Rangers. So, who are they going to go to and who has the morals and integrity to do the right thing?
This is an outrage the citizens of McLennan County should be calling and emailing these elected officials and telling them we are tired of this and vote them out every single one of them. I like the idea of your TAKE IT BACK movement count me in Harry. I would hope that Mandy McNamara finds the peace that she needs even if it is in the form of telling the truth about her father and what has gone on and how he has wronged the voters and his family. I will be sending love and prayers to Mandy and her children as well as her mothers’ family. Now let the truth be told!
