While Par demands, “ridin’ for the brand”, blindly following the aging, mean ass leader, others are finding their voice “FOLLOWING THE MAN”, not the “brotherhood”.
I was wrong, IF I really thought about it as I probably didn’t to protect myself from the horror of four more years of Par and his various unwilling at first, chipped away bit by bit, by Char and Par.
Well, old buddy, Par, the Brothers have abandoned your brand of BROTHERHOOD, to include some morality, regret, and the heart they started off in law enforcement with in the first place.
The feeling and calling to “protect and serve”, is real.
We get a sense of RIGHT AND WRONG at the age of 5.
Par pretty much tried to take that from everyone by the time they’re in their mid forties.
Jeff Aguirre brings that back, when it first started, I worried that Par’s power was too strong, well, it’s not anymore.
Jeff Aguirre brings out the best in people and his men.
Par brings out the worst, and, usually, kicking and screaming, inside.
Par is old bullshit, hero worship stuff we just don’t need anymore
Jeff Aguirre, a brother you can stand behind.

Thank you Jodi for your post! It helped me find my words.
When you marry a man who has answered the call to protect and serve, you expect there will be missed dinners, holidays and family events. You expect he will have challenging days working horrible crime scenes. You never expect the most challenging days will be caused by immoral and unethical actions/decisions made by individuals who hold leadership roles with in the department. You never expect those days will lead to him giving up the career he loved so much. A career in which he was a proud servant of the community. Never once did he complain about his job…until a few years ago. He spent 21 years building his career, always excited to learn more and pass on what he learned to others. With the exception of a few, the jailers and deputies, truly are our family.H
My husband witnessed one of the most horrific crime scenes I have ever heard described. It sounded like something straight out of Hollywood, the stuff nightmares are made of. As you can imagine it was not something anyone can just get over, but the lasting effects of that incident did not hold a candle to the disgust he felt in regards to the lack or morals and ethics of some of the individuals in leadership positions. The stress put a strain on his health, our family and our marriage.
He is one of the numerous tenured officers to leave the department due to the unscrupulous actions of poor leadership. It is time for a change. If you know someone that has left the department who is supporting Jeff Aguirre, ask them why. I bet the answer is similar.
Vote Jeff Aguirre For McLennan County Sheriff in the Republican primary on March 5th!
