Integrity is defined as doing the right things when nobody is looking. It is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
I have met so many people in this profession that have been held to that standard while others are not. I have been held to a high standard. I’m not perfect. I’ve been teachable and most importantly I’ve self evaluated. I hold myself accountable.
My father always taught me to be a good man. I still hold that standard everyday. I have been in law enforcement for 10 years both in the jails and as a peace officer. My resume isn’t just full of training accolades but of true, genuine, acts of service. I’m human but I am proud to serve.
I say this because I know what is said and what is talked about everyday in the law enforcement community. Jeff Aguirre stepped up to the challenge. Jeff has been a Peace Officer and has done this job year after year and has served this community.
They ask what has he done? He has shown up in the hardest moments of peoples lives when the reporters weren’t there. He has put in the work for the less than high profile cases because the victim actually mattered. Jeff has demonstrated that he has a servant’s heart and that’s more than some of his critics. He. Has. Been. Selfless.
