Here’s another reader rant:
Have you ever seen a vehicle seized in a crime mainly and usually a drug crime but have you ever seen one seized from a DWI here in McLennan County?? Neither has anyone else….I can promise you no one in this county even knew the first thing about helping a citizen Try to get their vehicle back on a DWI charge. Instead, since the truck was paid for they used that to not only seize the truck but to help reduce his sentence. So kids~one more time: They used it as a negotiating factor for his sentence AND if HE didn’t agree he was going away on a 6 yr sentence……..Hmmmm?? Can we say: HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!?!? I guess par or shar needed a brand new vehicle. Do you think they would’ve taken the vehicle on a DWI charge if the truck had not been paid for? I’m gonna go with hell no!!!!!!! so maybe sometimes it’s good not to pay off your vehicle
