You all may know that I am “partial” to one very big tiny woman named Brittany Lannen. Years ago Harry made Brittany her WOMAN OF THE YEAR for standing up to Abel Reyna and others and having bigger cajones than any of the “boys”, standing her ground, leaving her job, no problem.
I imagined her from her photos as being a formidable woman like myself, well, maybe not that formidable, I know better, no, I imagined her at five foot nine or ten looming over the other lawyers and showing them a thing or two with her non shakable convictions and moral compass. I could see in her that determined fit throwing, “Oh, hell no”, without hesitation and she fascinated me.
Finally, I met her in person, she’s beautiful, totally, and is actually one tiny, gentle, delicate looking flower of a woman that will kick your ass, redo her own bathroom, and somehow come back from just about the worst accident a woman could ever have, she caught on fire a year or so ago using a product to work on her bathroom, the hot water heater switched on and Brittany ignited, her daughter actually put her out.
Let’s stop a moment as I hurt all over thinking about this.
Robbie Robertson called and told me and I felt so stupid and petty worrying about her beautiful face and hair. I heard it was so bad she was Star Flighted to the Dallas Hospital specializing in burns, hell, it was Parkland. If you’re my age you know Parkland well, it’s where Kennedy went.
I waited as did many people for any word of her condition and, of course, for a few days there was nothing but heartache and hope.
I’m a big tough girl, but, I’ll take their pain meds if I’m in hospital. Not Brittany.
After a few months I contacted her and she sent me photos of her legs and told me about what happened and how it was going. I’m tearing up right now, don’t tell anyone I’m getting sappy in my old age. Ick. She told me about the spray foam skin they used on her and as we celebrated technology I hurt and clenched all over.
Now she has wound up not only getting as well as one can be after this horrific experience BUT she teamed up with another total Spitfire, Daniela Sawyer, who moves mountains behind the scenes, gets embarrassed when you give her credit for something, hides from the limelight yet fights like crazy for her clients and justice itself. Daniela is a walking encyclopedia and timeline of all manner of cases she and Haywood have worked. Chapter and Verse, when she tells you something there’s no wiggle room, she knows her stuff.
I am proud to know Brittany. I am proud to know Daniela.
Well, all that cuteness surely did kick ass in Bell County now, didn’t it?
This isn’t Daniela’s first rodeo either, one can only grin at how many big ole men misjudge her too, don’t you other women reading this love it, just LOVE IT??? Yes, we do.
So to these two Goddesses, you’re fun to watch go kick some more ass.
Unlike some female lawyers, we know where these two stand at all times. Capish?

So the guy was innocent and spent 5 years in county waiting for trial. Damn.

Isn’t there a right in the constitution that requires that trial be held in a timely manner…. 5 years and proven not guilty seems to be a violation of his constitutional rights.

I know nothing about this case but just because he was found not guilty doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. Look at OJ. Casey Anthony. You think they are innocent V

Everyone saying an innocent man in prison for 5 yrs. He isn’t innocent whether he pulled the trigger or helped his sister clean it up he definitely not innocent
