READER RANT KRISTI DECLUITT PERPETUAL CANDIDATE

Again, this time just plain mean with no problem just totally fking her friends that took up for her.

Good morning, Harry,

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to share some thoughts on the local elections—though honestly, I shouldn’t be surprised at the circus we keep seeing. Your blog has been my go-to for cutting through the noise, so I thought I’d throw in my perspective on one candidate in particular: Kristi DeCluitt.

Kristi has become the textbook definition of a “career candidate.” She runs for everything and wins nothing. Occasionally, she lands an appointment, but when she does, she manages to embarrass herself—or worse, burn bridges like it’s a full-time hobby.

Here’s the backstory: Kristi was appointed Justice of the Peace in 2012 to fill a vacant spot. When it came time for reelection, the Republican Party backed a different candidate. Kristi then threatened a lawsuit over salary and related issues, and she won that fight, though it was largely symbolic because she had already been failing to perform her job duties. Following this, she was appointed Criminal Justice Analyst immediately under legal threat to sue the County, clearly a position created to appease her. So, she was allowed to resigned from the JP position she wasn’t doing anyway.

Her husband just got elected chairman of the Republican Party in McLennan County, though he’s a trust fund baby who obviously has entitlement issues himself rumors have swirled for years he made her sign a prenup, which adds a little irony to her image of stability and self-reliance. That incident perfectly sums up her career: unqualified, unwilling, and unreliable. Nobody likes her, nobody trusts her, and nobody respects her.

Her record reads like a “how not to run for office” guide:

  • 2012: Appointed Justice of the Peace to fill a vacancy. Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2014: Requested creation of 2nd Criminal Associate Position. Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2015: Appointed Criminal Justice Analyst immediately under legal threat to sue the County. Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2019: Ran for 19th District Court (lost)Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2021: Announced candidacy for County Court at Law 3 (lost). Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2022: Sought appointment to 474th District Court (denied). Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2025: Applied for 74th District (denied). Nobody likes you, Kristi.
  • 2025: Announced candidacy for 170th District Court (current run)

Then there’s the image game. Kristi works overtime trying to sell a polished version of herself—dramatic weight-loss transformation, perfect family photos, all the Hallmark vibes. Reality? Two divorce cases—filed and later dropped—shatters that façade faster than any Instagram filter ever could. The “perfect family” is more like a carefully staged photo op that ignores reality entirely. Nobody likes her, and nobody’s fooled. Nobody likes you, Kristi.

One reason I’m writing today is because one of the good Republican ladies shared Kristi’s Facebook Judge Page post boasting:

“While others have spent the day hopping from event to event and posting every moment on FB, just know I was in court, in my office, working to keep criminals off the street and not wasting your tax dollars.”

Oh, bless her heart. She seems to think doing the job she’s already being paid to do is some kind of heroic achievement. Forget meeting voters, shaking hands, or showing up in public—that’s apparently “busywork.” Meanwhile, she’s making plea deals with pedophiles and assorted criminals, all while patting herself on the back for “saving taxpayers money.” It’s almost laughable: Kristi spins basic job duties into a self-congratulatory campaign highlight, desperate for applause from anyone who’ll give it. Petty, tone-deaf, and completely out of touch—this post perfectly sums up her approach: desperate for attention, oblivious to reality, and fully convinced she’s a hero. Nobody likes her, and nobody’s impressed. Nobody likes you, Kristi.

Kristi isn’t running to serve—she’s running to collect titles she hasn’t earned. She’s not respected in the community, not trusted by colleagues, and not taken seriously by voters. Her reputation is toxic, her track record is disastrous, and her campaign trail is more ridicule than respect. Nobody likes her.

At the end of the day, Kristi DeCluitt is exactly what people mean when they say “career candidate.” Titles matter more than actual work, appearances matter more than accountability, and reality is conveniently ignored. Nobody likes her, and McLennan County deserves better than the same parade of failures masquerading as ambition.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I’d love to hear your thoughts—and whether anyone actually takes her seriously, or if, like me, you see her endless parade of campaigns for what it really is: a desperate grab for relevance.

Best,
Fed Up
