Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, unfortunately, this never got off the ground and we can only wonder how many other people have been scammed. If you have been scammed by DJ Adams, please let us know so we can warn the unsuspecting.
Since a lot of law enforcement in this city and obviously the State, doesn’t always do the job it needs to and there are real victims out there who can get NO justice whatsoever, especially, if the bad guy is a law enforcement officer, or, hell, was one. Case in point, DJ Adams.
I heard from Kathy Kelsey a while back and she doesn’t even live in this county so there’s not much hell I can even raise, BUT, I’m going to give it a shot because it just sucks.
If we cannot have justice, let them not have peace. Let them be outted, it may be all we have.

My name is Kathy Kelsey’Fox,
A sweet foster mom I met online suggested I write to you in hopes to help bring awareness to a man who is using his badge with the McLennan County Sheriff’s dept to gain people’s trust and scam them out of thousands of dollars and he has been doing this for a while, his name is DeAlan J.Adams and he was in fact a police officer and from what I understand is still a reserve officer.
Sworn to protect and serve Dj Adams retired from police dept and started his own company “The Guys Services” Our story began on December 14 2023 with this monster.
December 14, 2023 started like any other day my husband went to work at the ranch he had been working in Weimer Tx
I had quick Dr Apt in town and then a porch to paint in Schulenburg I usually bring my shadow Mama with me but the owner had a aggresive dog and didnt want to stress out my girl, Mama was my best friend my shadow my service dog my heartbeat I fostered then adopted about 11 yrs ago the sweetest pocket pit youll ever meet she was heaven sent at a time when I needed her the most she knew felt and sensed things most human dont even understand our connection was unlike any I’d ever had or will ever have again I loved her with all my heart. So I left her at home with her sister Baby Girl, a boxer pit my husband and I rescued who was just misunderstood and with my Mamas help was finally fitting into our family and turning into a great addition to our family. I had barley been at work 45 mins when our neighbor called and said your house is on fire I cant get in he had called the fire dept but we live in the country so its volenteer dept I pulled up the house was fully engulfed my husband got to the house frantic thinking I was in the house then fire dept I was histerical and wanted in to get our babies but there just was no saving them they died of smoke before they parished, devastated by this horrible tragedy we went stayed in a hotel that night neighbors and our vommunity were so kind dropping clothes food gift cards ect to help us out December 17th we were shocked to learn our home was Uninsured what were we going to do were in our 50s and 60s my husband had only been at his current job a little under a yr in 2021 it was finally discovered my jusband who had been randomly passing out we had been trying to find out what was wrong with him but going thru temporary dr in clinic due to no insurance makes it hard to pin point whats going on we had finally gotten a dr who put a monitor he was to wear for a week to check his heart and help pin point his attacks it worked, in August 2021 I had dropped him off at door of auto parts watching him walk in the door I saw him pass out in door way we called the ambulance he was taken to austin where they determined he had noT only shattered his ankle but after reading the monitor he was wearing he needed a pacemaker while he was recouperating his boss then of 9yrs had a massive heart attack and died my husband with highschool diploma who could only read and write at a 3rd grade level was forced to look for a new job so when he started the new job he took a paycut and we were living paycheck to paycheck we had no savings to speak of but we owned our property and home outright his mother paid the homeowners insurance out of his inheritance to find out we had no insurance was devastating!!! After a week in hotel we had to do something and one of our friends had recently met a girl who had traveled from arkansas to work at Lcra where our friend worked had hooked up we didnt know her but in passing but this young girl was an angel she had moved in with our friend and offered us her Rv so we could stay on our property and begin the costly and depressing task of cleaning up the debris I didnt realize how difficult it was going to be for us to live on driveway but it was taking a very large tole on me mentally I was of really no help to my husband some friends of ours posted a go fund me page for us to help us out and a man Dj Adams contacted me wanted to meet he said he was going to help us recover from this horrible tragedy he was so incredibly kind is enthusiasum and generosity were just amazing he listened to our story and said he was sent to us to help us and that he and his company do this once a yr and try to help and they were able to write off a large portion of the build of our Forever home . Neither James or myself had ever had a brandnew home Dj made this so exciting telling us we would be picking out our own colors be involved in the entire process of where I wanted my cabinets in kitchen and how our bedroom and master bath would be set up with all the gift cards we had recieved we began buying for our new home trying anyway we could to save cost from sink fixtures light fixtures bathtubs pedestal sink for spare bath we met with Dj and had James mother there she is retired secret service for the signing of the contract May 3rd 2024 and giving Dj a check for $45,000.00 and the build was to start June 1st 2024 Dj said we needed to still move alot of stuff around to get lot ready for build James worked tirelessly after work and weekends leading ip to june 1st came I thought it odd that they would start on a Thursday but Dj said they had it set up that way so they could get the guys situated to stay here from Waco June 1st came No one showed up then middle of June still nothing I began feeling concerned but his excuses sounded so legit after we had discussed so much of our lives together he knew where to get me with his excuses hes a single dad with just limited visitation we had a bad storm he said tornado touched down took out his shop finally at the end of June the guys showed up to start getting ready for concrete foundation they were here for a day and half had brought out equipment and trailer left in the yard it was about then James was really not feeling well we took him to Dr we were told he had double hernia another Ct scan revieled he had testicular cancer so attention was not on waiting for contractor but getting my husband well we did surgery removed testicle he is now cancer free in the mean time people asking when house was to start I had no answers or plans to look over I called Dj he said he sent plans over in email with copy of contract
thats where I discovered Eric Reed as enginered structural man out of New Branufels I contacted Mr Reed to ask for plans I was told he had Never heard of Dj our home and knew nothing of project when I called Dj he told me I was not to contact sub contractor to go directly thru him
July while we were gone to friends in Lake Texoma for 4th of July when we returned the bobcat was gone no work done but it was gone we called Dj concerned he said they needed it for another job another excusable delay about a week or so later james and I returned home from store and the trailer was gone we called Dj he told us he had 180 days to complete project and to Please trust him, August nothing then I began worrying and James who has worked construction himself still not concerned I had a card from one of the guys who had been here in June and left the equipment so I called Mr Rob Johnson who told me he had cut ties with Dj they would Not be back until they were paid and that Jason who was the engineered plans guy may know more so I looked in my contract and found his number he said he wasnt giving Dj the finished plans until he was paid so I called Dj and he began getting angry at my questions still ensisting I trust him then I called a couple of refrences he had left us (probably should had done earlier) Dj started calling me hollaring at me accusing myself or my motherinlaw of going to Waco and starting a Shit Show as he called it we had never traveled to Waco but he swore he had video demanding he know who had been up there and we had breached the contract at this point we were demanding a meeting with Dj who would agree to time and then not show up with excuses from infected with covid two or three times heat stroke and hospitalized my last contact with Dj personally was in phone conversation where he again said to trust him he had agreed and replied to my email demanding update of our project all of these emails Ive enclosed in this letter to you as of today February 13th 2025 I have just learned his badge has been taken from him and he has done this to others I dont think we will ever recover from this as we just simply dont have the funds or credit to rebuild and dont want to use our property as collateral at this point my husband still hasnt retured to work he now needs part of his colon removed due to diverticulitus infection I am hoping you can put some light on this man so we can share our story Dj lured us in with his badge kindness and used our tragedy to fund himself and his other projects leaving us broken unable to heal and rebuld I have aged what appears to be a good 20 yrs or so since this all began with depression hopelessness my faith in people is gone and lost
