Too bad he couldn’t get the Commissioners, Bankers, Suck Ups, and the DA’s office to help him.
Sad.
So Parnell has a problem. He’s now looking at an investigation by the Texas Rangers. Hopefully Josh Tetens has enough sense to give it to the Public Corruption Unit down in Austin instead of Parnell’s buddies in the local rangers.
That’s only part of his problem though. The bigger part of his problem is that it’s a Grand Jury looking into him AND it was picked up by the local news. I’m not sure what odd set of circumstances actually got KWTX to attempt journalism all the sudden, but they did. Now Parnell’s problem is out for everyone to see.
So now if it gets covered up, someone has got to put their name on it to sign off on the investigation. It’s gonna take one of Parnell’s buddies to openly cover up the corruption. It was all well and good when the only stories of corruption were written in this “gossip blog.” It’d just be another allegation that everyone knows is true but there’s no hard evidence.
Now though, you got people publicly and openly telling what they did and saw.
I do love Parnell’s cover story though. Parnell wants you to believe that Crawley, the sergeant above Crawley in Mental Health (Sgt Brad Bond), the lieutenant above that sergeant (Lt. Kevin Ferguson), the captain above that lieutenant (Capt Chris Eubank), and the former chief deputy (Kilcrease), that all of them are all “disgruntled employees” who all got together to concoct this lie to make Parnell look bad.
Plus Parnell says that all the time Crawley spent on Parnell’s private property was just mowing and cleaning up the shooting range. How much mowing and cleaning does one range need? Was Crawley cutting the grass with a pair of scissors? Also, Crawley injured his eye clearing some brush with a chainsaw. If Parnell’s range has been in use for over 50 years, how are there trees and brush that need cut down?
The weirdest part of Parnell’s entire story is Parnell taking pictures of Crawley on a lawn mower. I have a lawn service that mows my yard. I’ve never once had the idea to take pictures of them as they worked. That’d just be weird. I mean, if the whole Crawley thing is on the up and up, why take pictures? Does Parnell have some sort of fetish for young men on riding mowers?
OR, maybe, just maybe, Parnell is full of shit and Crawley and company are telling the truth. Not to kink shame, but the alternative is just weird.
