This was no real win, for Parnell, and it should not be taken as one. What the vote numbers show, besides our community Not showing up to vote at all, is that damn near half do Not approve of him! This was no 60% ahead, this single digit percent ahead. That’s Embarrassing For An Incumbent!
Jeff Aguirre and his supporters pounded that pavement exposing the issues, and good for them! It takes a far more courageous person to do that, knowing they’ll face ridicule. They never backed down!
Parnell is weak with age. His mind cannot handle the day to day job requirements. He’s a horrible boss with high turnover and low morale with those remaining. The jail is in shambles with compliance. His deputies when called are half assed in their “investigations” onsite. Case in point- my neighbor was shooting for Hours. Erratically shooting into the night. Drunk and mad. A bullet whizzed past me as I was walking from the barn to my house! Now that IS Illegal! We got into the truck to drive over and see what was going on exactly before calling it in. Before we got out of drive, everything went dark at his place suddenly. His other neighbor three houses over. We saw the deputies there and drove over and asked one if it was about my neighbor shooting. He said yes, and she’s upset as hell over it. Now we are talking Hours of shooting, and it was late- 10:30. I had to babysit my horses the whole time. I told them exactly what house he is in and that he’s in his workshop, not the house. I told him about the bullet literally whizzing by head, and how unnerved I was, and I knew where the bullet was. Remind you- it’s illegal! His reply? We aren’t here for you! We are dealing with her call Only! I was a witness to the whole thing the whole time! They Never even went to the guys house, nor ours to retrieve the bullet that came so close to me! That’s the kind of BS we have roaming around. Can’t even do an investigation.
Sad.
And sadder there are those that think he’s capable at his age to think things through and run a county! This really is a position for someone much younger and much more capable.
Remember Aguirre’s name. He’s not gone and it’s time to start the next campaign now.
It looks like the good citizens of McLennan County will have to put up with 4 more years of Par. But unfortunately for Par, he will have to put up with 4 more years of Harry Storm. If I were him, I would be very worried.

Nothing & I mean NOTHING shocks me anymore when it comes to selections,I mean elections. Has nobody learned anything the past few years? Anybody challenge the elections? I bet if you dig deep enough at least one of your county commisoners is sitting on a memorandum of understanding. Was the “voting system” up to date that’s hardware AND software? Any dead ppl vote? What about the mail ins? What about voter rolls?
