“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”I’ve never run a political campaign, but I could do a better job than Charlotte or Lisa or Becky Jean or whoever is making the decisions for Parnell. Parnell’s campaign just posted a video on their Facebook page featuring Rusty Shackleford. Actually, his name is Bradley but I prefer the King of the Hill reference.
The video is an endorsement imitating Jeff and his “truth bomb” videos. You know, the same videos that Parnell’s people were mocking. Except in this one, you have Rusty singing the praises of working for Parnell at the jail.Rusty goes on to say that he has worked for three different agencies before becoming a reserve deputy for McLennan County then being hired at the jail. There’s a term in law enforcement for that. It’s called a “gypsy cop.” Someone who just bounces from agency to agency. That’s usually a red flag in the hiring process, but with “12% turnover” I guess they’re taking what they can get, gypsy cops and 18 yr olds.
The video also feels rushed or poorly done. It’s filmed in front of a plain white background. If you’re going to do that, at least do it in front of a green screen and put something fun on in the background. Maybe some old westerns so Parnell can pretend he’s an old timey lawman. Or hell, put up some scenes from an old Godzilla movie with Godzilla attacking Tokyo. If we’re going to live in the land of make believe, have some fun with it.
From endorsements from unknown political groups in Lubbock to “truth bomb”-esqe videos from a gypsy cop jailer, it’s not looking good.
Seriously though, feel free to use my idea about the green screen.
You can even take the credit. Just like a stolen valor lawman story.
