My name is Matt Cawthon and I support Jeff Aguirre for McLennan County Sheriff. That being said, I want the voters of McLennan County to know why I support Jeff.
I recently responded to a couple of people regarding their support of Parnell McNamara for sheriff. I basically told them their loyalty to McNamara was unfounded and I told them why I believed it.
As a result, one of McNamara’s employees, a law enforcement officer, chose to attack me on social media using lies and half truths. To be clear, I’m calling that man a liar and it was certainly something unbecoming of an officer within the sheriff’s department.
Now, I’ve decided to release another Parnell McNamara fact and I will release more facts every time one of McNamara’s cronies attempts to disparage me on social media.
Parnell McNamara, as I have written, is a liar but more importantly he is one who is guilty of what is termed, stolen valor.
In 2012, during his first campaign, I overheard McNamara telling a “war story” to a group of potential donors at a fundraiser at the Cutbirth residence in Waco. Incidentally, the Cutbirths are nice people but simply don’t know McNamara as well as they think they do. On this occasion , McNamara told a story about how he had rounded up a bunch of child molestors who were using young boys to make homosexual pornographic movies and ultimately murdering one of the boys. The more I listened the more I realized that the story he was telling was one of MY cases (mine, Bellmead Police Detective Tom Noble and US Postal Inspector Bob Adams) McNamara had NOTHING to do with the case except to transport our prisoners from the jail to the federal courthouse. Then, McNamara, acting as court bailiff, sat and listened to the entire trial and learned enough details about the investigation to regale uniformed listeners at cocktail parties and fundraisers.
Jeff Aguirre is a humble man or what might be called a “quiet professional “ who has a tremendous amount of real law enforcement experience of his own and he would NEVER have to steal a story to entertain listeners.
Folks, we will soon have an opportunity to make a change in leadership from Washington, DC to 901 Washington right here in McLennan County. Please join me in voting for Jeff Aguirre for Sheriff of McLennan County.
