It’s interesting to see so many local lawmen come out in support of Jeff over Parnell. I haven’t actually seen any posts from any local officer supporting Parnell. The Waco PD Association not only endorsed Jeff, but even went so far as to release the results of their voting (with Parnell coming in just behind ‘none of the above’ at 10%).
I mean, Parnell’s people try to downplay them as disgruntled employees. If that is the case, how badly is your organization run that every former employee is “disgruntled”? I mean, his right hand man, Chris Eubank, decided to find a new career just two months before the primary.
IF Parnell was half the lawman he pretends to be, wouldn’t some of the people who have worked with him over the years come out and endorse him? Instead, they had to manipulate the Sheriff Office Association to get him an endorsement, and he found a couple of sheriffs from other counties. Yet no one from inside McLennan County.
His signs say that he’s “a lawman first” yet his only big endorsements come from politicians and CLEAT (who is based in Austin and endorsed him before Jeff even declared his candidacy). Whereas Jeff actually has current and former police officers FROM THIS COUNTY endorsing him. Just look at Matt’s endorsement, SWAT certified, FAST team member, etc. The FAST team, ya know, Parnell’s elite group. I’d like to see anyone try to downplay Matt’s character, experience, or dedication.
Maybe it’s just me, but if we’re talking endorsements, I’d put more stock in local lawmen than Austin politicians.
