Since I ran the story, I can’t tell you how many people come to me and talk to me about this because they didn’t know. I slammed Felton pretty hard, and will continue to do so because John Erwin gets a huge amount of County money and won the bid for the redo on the jail. I have no brain for numbers but will throw them out there and let the PUBLIC DECIDE.
If you or I were County Judge, and our ex brother in law got some really nice bids and was making a huge amount of money, and someone said that naughty word, “nepotism”, or even more appropriate, “croneyism”, I would think that the public was forcing ME to give a reply to the question of whether or not there was special treatment.
Because these assholes think they’re better than silly me, and you, they won’t answer the question that is sitting right there unasked by our local suck ass media. Everyone just feathers everyone’s nest in a fantasy world where THEY throw eachother money to death.
Case in point, Steve January. He was promoted to Captain, he said, “I am looking forward to the new phase of my career”, got a huge raise and promptly died of pancreatic cancer just like we all knew he would.
His widow got “money for life”, Steve got the fat color guard, and Par got to tell a story about himself and McDuff at the funeral. Win. Win.
See, I get it. I get it but is it right? No.
They just play this out in plain sight and send a big “fuck you” to everyone involved.
They don’t even try to look honest and above board. Felton and Erwin, come on, we see you and know what’s up. No one will do anything but in the meantime, without checks and balances, we don’t intend to gossip about your more than close relationship and lack of explanation, we intend and hope to just expose and humiliate you.
In the coming weeks we will be filing Public Information Requests to see exactly how much the County has paid John Erwin over the years. No big deal…………..but they won’t like it.
