The story below is not original, it comes from a source within the SHERIFF’S department that’s smarter than they are, he or she has a PROTON MAIL RUSSIAN address, impossible to trace, anyway, I got this story about body cams today. I really love it.
No body cams would cause a problem for Par who does favors for his friends…………
For example, say sheriff deputies were out on an aggressive dog call at Karem Shrine. Then the deputies present determined that the dog was not aggressive. However a “friend of the sheriff” made a phone call. The on scene supervisor then received a phone call stating that “per the sheriff” if the “friend of the sheriff says a dog is vicious then the dog is vicious. The sheriff wants it pickup up.” So the deputies had animal control come pick up the dog from a crying little girl.
That’d look awful on body cams.
I understand though. Nowadays the public in general expects all law enforcement to have body cams.
I think a big part of why they don’t is that the last legislative session passed a bill that required officers to keep their body worn cameras on for the duration of their investigation.
If they started doing that, they wouldn’t be able to do like they currently do (set their body mic down and walk away to have a conversation, usually off camera too).
A basic procedure of theirs is for the on scene supervisor to contact the on-call Lt or Captain on anything beyond the most routine calls. Any semi-major calls involve multiple phone calls and text messages between the patrol supervisor and admin.
Be kinda hard to hide those conversations if there was a body cam running the whole time.
