Shere Lomosad, Former Beverley Hills Employee Indicted for theft $300K

Is anyone surprised? Beverley Hills has a terrible reputation already and plays it all very lucy-goosie. Below Kory Martin is saying that it happened under the previous administration.

Why didn’t someone catch it before now?

I’ll tell you why. Just like the Sheriff’s department, they usually have an audit when the new people take over. Lynch left and Par came in, there was an audit. The audit showed money, Rolex watches, guns, and more in the evidence lockers. NOW, however, IF Burson wins, do you really think they’ll do an audit?

Burson is hand picked to just let it slide, just like he did when he was a Ranger.

The Commissioners and outside auditors, well, they don’t care either.

Here’s a fact. NO ONE, you will meet has EVER been in the McNamara barndominium. No one was ever in the Bosqueville Rec Center where they lived either. Nope. Ask around. Ask yourself why.

None of these people are good with numbers and don’t care.

300K took a good while to embezzle and no one caught it.

I will catch $29 on my bank account, how about you?

We need better people in office, please young people, run for elected office, if you win, look at your employees and get real auditors in there to keep people straight.

Stop the good ole boy system and the “business as usual” attitude.

BEVERLY HILLS, Texas (FOX 44) – A former City of Beverly Hills employee has been indicted on charges of theft and misappropriation of Fiduciary Funds of > $300,000.

The City of Beverly Hills Police Chief and Chief Administrative Officer, Kory Martin, held a press conference at City Hall on Friday morning, September 4, 2026, regarding the indictment of 45-year-old Shere Lomosad of Waco on charges of theft and misappropriation of Fiduciary Funds > $300,000. Lomosad was placed on administrative-leave in December 2025, and ultimately resigned from her position shortly after.

Chief Martin says that Lomosad began working for the City of Beverly Hills as a court clerk in 2016, and was most recently the Secretary for the City of Beverly Hills. He says Lomosad was the primary head of large portions of finance specifically through 2024, up until the end of December 2025, when another employee discovered “a strange anomaly in the finances” and alerted the Mayor and the City Attorney of the suspicion of internal theft.

The Beverly Hills Police Department was then notified and sent the case over to investigations, where Detective Lightfoot with the BHPD, in coordination with the DA’s office, found that the theft was over $300,000 and was taken in various methods with all the access that Lomosad had in the city. Upon investigation, which began in January 2026, it appears that the theft began in 2024 and continued until it’s discovery in December 2025.

What’s next?

Chief Martin would like to reiterate that this incident did not happen under the City’s current administration, and that there are a significant number of new people in place to make sure “they’re working through great job descriptions, internal and financial policies to make sure that, from the Mayor down, there are no gaps or opportunities for the City to be taken advantage of by an employee or otherwise.”

In the process, and to fill the position of City Manager, Police Chief Kory Martin has also assumed the duties of Chief Administrative Officer of the City, and will work as the direct liaison with the Mayor and the City Council along with the new City Secretary. This assures that there will be dual oversight over one another. They will equally report directly to council, equally sign and double check all financials, and work heavily through financial policies and procedures to make sure that something like this doesn’t continue to happen, or happen again to the best of their ability.

“I will say, fortunately enough, we’ve done a lot of work to make sure we’re still able to continue to provide services, do what we need to do, that we balance that budget out. I think you’ll probably all be able to see that there will be a really nice, transparent budget that’s going to the council as we get ready for budget, and we’ve worked really hard. The new City Secretary, (Roxanne Moldanado), actually has 25 years with the City. She started as a telecommunicator, she moved into records, then she was telecommunications supervisor, became my admin, and then, when this opportunity came up, we both just kind of considered it was our opportunity to hopefully make a difference in a long-term big situation, so we just took it upon ourselves to try to make sure it’s fixed, and we both just want it to be better than it’s ever been. We’ve worked a lot of hours and hard to make sure that our reputation is sound and that we’re doing a good job for the community. This, unfortunately, obviously would take us back a rung, but you know what I would hope is people realize you trust somebody, and they take advantage, but it’s one person that made that decision, not the whole department.”

Chief Martin goes on to say that concerned citizens are welcome to call and ask questions, and assures that the budget will be posted transparently. The Chief also shared news that a new city website will be coming later this fall that will be packed full of information about the city and its policies and procedures.
